An Oklahoma student's experiences in NASA and international space programs...
I've worked at NASA JSC, Ames, MSFC, and GRC. I've been involved with ISU, Space Generation, Next Generation Exploration Conference, and more; I've mentored for Texas Aerospace Scholars and Intl Space School and helped with NASA's Reduced Gravity Flight program. Basically, I love the idea of space exploration, and I'm dedicating my career to sharing that passion.

Awwwww...It's so cute. So, "Jolie," as in Angelina? =)
Partially, but also it's French for "pretty" and it fits her. And Jac and I want to call her Jolie Jolie Rolly Poley, because how cute is that?
There's a lot of thought that has to go into naming an animal. It's got to fit the personality and the look. It's got to be something that you can yell across the yard and really project, but not feel silly doing so. Spin-off short names should be close enough to the original that they're recognizable to the dog. I personally am not for dogs with common people names. Or cliche names. If I go outside yelling for Sam or Oreo (sorry, Amy, we're not calling her Oreo), that could apply to any one of a number of children, adults, dogs, cats, cookies, or various other things. I like the idea of there being a very short list of things named the name we name her within several miles of here.
"Jolie" works on all of those points.
